Sear turns recipe screenshots, links, and text into clean, structured recipe cards. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and profile image. You may also choose a public handle.
- Content you create. Recipes you import or edit, collections, dietary preferences and allergens, and any messages you send with a shared recipe.
- Recipe inputs. Images, URLs, or text you submit for extraction.
- Usage and diagnostics. Basic activity and error logs we use to operate and improve the service.
How we use your information
- To extract and structure recipes from the inputs you provide.
- To power social features — friends, sending recipes, and shared collections.
- To operate, secure, and improve the service.
AI processing
To extract recipes, we send your inputs (images, URLs, or text) to our AI provider, Anthropic, for processing. We do not sell your personal information.
Service providers
We use third parties to run Sear, including hosting and database infrastructure (Vercel and Neon) and AI processing (Anthropic). These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account. You can delete your account and associated data at any time from within the app.
- Access and correction. You can view and edit your recipes and profile in the app.
